History

Over the years the service has grown aided by community fundraising and by securing national and European Union funding including a large scale National Childcare Investment Programme Capital funding for 6million secured in 2006. The service is now located in the new Mounttown Community Facility in Fitzgerald Park.

Our service has been able to expand as a result of the move and provides care for babies right up to children aged eight years of age. The service is currently supported by the HSE/Tusla, Dept. of Children and Youth Affairs and Banardos and operates the ECCE, TEC and CCS programmes which enables parents to avail of subsidised fees.

Mounttown Early Years' service employs  a number of staff, including a full time manager. The service also facilitates a number of individuals on Community Employment and Tús programmes, most of whom are community members. We also provide a range of courses for parents such as the Caring Start Programme which is run in conjunction with the High / Scope method which is the chosen curriculum used by the service.

We currently hold the Síolta Quality Standard Level 3 of 4 The Síolta Quality Standard is awarded to childcare Services which have completed a base line assessment, and is a quality mark rated on a scale of 1 – 4.
